Getting Down to Doing It Right - It's Easy!

One of the quickest ways to take a decision, choose the right thing, get up, get out and do your thing… in short – live life the way you know you should, and be who you really want to be – is to ask yourself – “when I die and merge with the Supreme Intelligence; and I review the life I've lived – watching me doing what I'm about to do – would I want to kick myself in the a** for being such a fool? Or would I jump up into a standing ovation, bow to myself and want to scream “Oh yeah! That’s how it’s done baby! You showed ‘em all!! You make me feel so proud right there. More power to you buddy!”?”

That feeling right there... That’s the answer you are looking for. Live life by that answer, and you shan't have another night, with your heart whimpering “This’s not what I had planned for me. This’s not how I’d wanted to be.”

I've found that another very helpful question to ask oneself is – “Is this who I want my children to know me as? Is this what I want them to learn about life and how to live it?”
Somewhere, it jolts our mind about what we are teaching a moldable mind, and how deep and far reaching an impact it could have on their life, and for generations to come.

In case, this sounds too far-stretched or intense for your liking… try giving this a thought:

You saw a parent figure being emotional in early life, very vulnerable by middle age, and having a caustic temper or a hopeless depression post middle age.
- Does that make you feel safe, secure and sure of life?
- Does it make it easier to deal with the big bad world?
- Does that let you believe that you have the power to take on the world, with no need for hostility or shyness?
- Do you feel the world is beautiful; people are genuinely helpful, God truly cares – on the whole, life is worth giving a shot at without fear, anger, guilt, suspicion, weariness or any other barrier?

If you say no to even a single of these questions, well, then you know how much and why it is so important that your kids see you and learn about life in a way that helps them live it well, have it smoother and pass it on. It’s the least you could do … for them and for you.

On the other hand, before I conclude, wrap your head around this for me just once:
You saw a parent figure being independent and active in early life, jovial and equanimous through middle age and content, zealous and happy post middle age.
Now answer- -
- Does that make you feel safe, secure and sure of life?
- Does it make it easier to deal with the big bad world?
- Does that let you believe that you have the power to take on the world, with no need for hostility or shyness?
- Do you feel the world is beautiful; people are genuinely helpful, God truly cares – on the whole, life is worth giving a shot at without fear, anger, guilt, suspicion, weariness or any other barrier?

If you answer a yes to any of these questions, well, I rest my case.

Ultimately, I'd say, whether you use good old death or innocent youthful life as an aide to being integrous, so long as it helps you be who your heart knows you to be… Life is B-E-A-Utiful..!!!

Let’s toast to life, and the knowing… that you can sail through life joyfully unscathed, and for the minor bumps on the way... there’s always a warm hug, a soft pillow, a lil chocolate... and band-aid!
